In the first classroom lecture, we received detailed explanations about the nature and environmental issues of Iriomote Island, and were able to gain a deep understanding of the island's attractions and challenges. In the beach cleanup that followed, we were able to experience a sense of accomplishment from being able to directly contribute to environmental protection with our own hands, and it also gave us an opportunity to rethink how we deal with nature.
