| Career History | After graduating from college, to fulfill my dream of living in Okinawa, I traveled to several places in Japan—starting with Miyako Island—while working, and eventually ended up on Iriomote Island in 2022. Since then, I’ve gone back to my hometown and lived on other islands, but I’ve since returned to Iriomote Island. |

― What I Value Most as a Guide ―
— The Story of Kengo Ikeya —
I had visited Iriomote Island on a camping trip during college, so I’d always been interested in the island. When I found a job as a tour guide on Iriomote Island, I figured I just had to go for it.
I’d be happy if you could experience the joy of being in nature.

— Customer Feedback for Kenken —
On the day of the trip, we had to switch from snorkeling to canyoning at the last minute due to the waves, but it turned out to be an amazing experience—I’m so glad we did it.
I was a little nervous about canyoning at first, but I was drawn in by Kenken’s cheerful energy and smile, and I ended up having the time of my life. It was a rare and precious experience that I don’t get to have very often, and with the wonderful photos and videos he took for me, it’s a memory I’ll cherish for the rest of my life.
The canoe ride, which allowed me to observe the mangroves up close, offered truly beautiful scenery, and I felt completely relaxed in that unique, otherworldly setting.
It was great to hear stories about Iriomote Island while we were driving. We also saw a crested eagle.
Also, everything was taken care of—from the hotel shuttle to changing clothes, handling luggage, and keeping track of the boat schedule—so I could just leave it all to the guide. The day went by smoothly, and I really appreciated being able to focus on the activities.
The restaurant I was told about at lunchtime had a stylish yet cozy atmosphere, and the food was delicious—it was a truly satisfying day.
I’d love to come back and enjoy the ocean around Iriomote Island again.
I took a mangrove canoe tour on Iriomote Island.
Under clear blue skies, I was able to experience the great outdoors while canoeing—it was truly a memorable experience!
Our guide, Mr. Iketani, was fantastic—both in terms of his knowledge and his friendly demeanor!
I’ve come to love Iriomote Island, so I’ll be going back!
We were taken care of by “pipi” during our mangrove canoe tour on Iriomote Island.
Although the weather wasn't great, (omitted) as we paddled along in our canoes, we were able to experience the majestic natural scenery up close, making it an unforgettable experience.
I was a little worried about bringing my 4-, 8-, and 11-year-old children, but the staff were all so kind that we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves. I’m grateful for the warm support from everyone, especially Kenken.
During the tour, we learned all sorts of things about the nature and wildlife of Iriomote Island, and the children were fascinated.
It was a great help that they were so flexible when we had to cancel the afternoon course due to the weather.
Once my child is a little older, I’d definitely like to participate again.
Thank you so much for a wonderful time!
